The statistics on causes of death describe the causes of death of persons living in Finland by age, gender and other demographic factors. The data are compiled from the Population Information System and death certificates and published once a year.

Releases
According to Statistics Finland, 287 persons died from drugs in Finland in 2021, which was 29 more than in the previous year. In 2021, the number of drug-related deaths was higher than ever before in the measuring history, that is, since 2006. Deaths increased most in the age group 30 to 44. The median age of those dying from drugs rose from 31 to 35 years.
